Gallery Talk: Open Curator’s Dialogue with Katia Handrabura and Max Epstein 

Curator and art manager Katia Handrabura, artist Max Epstein and composer Uri Brener participate will participate in an open discussion about their recent art project in the old synagogue of Buinaksk in Dagestan, Russia: Opening of Temir-Khan-Shura Synagogue. This project is about the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage of the Mountain Jewish community, remained in Dagestani town of Buinaksk (formerly Temir-Khan-Shura). They will talk about the context of the place and project idea, the site-specific performance along the exhibition and surprising social results.The talk will be accompanied with video documentation of the performance “Jewish Suite” & pictures of the exhibition. Gallery Talk Tuesday January 21, 20:00 at WILD Kids Animation Studios, HaUman St. 16. Gallery Talk: Curate the City

Avital Naor Wexler,  curator and artistic director of Beita art gallery will talk about the way in which cities in general and Jerusalem in particular, influence curatorial way of thought and practice. Naor Wexler will talk about the different exhibition she has curated that deal with urbanism from a variety of aspects, about how the street meets and influences art, and about public procurement. Exhibition Opening: Rebirth

Rani Sasson and Dror Ben Ami contemplate the natural forces and their innermost being, offering a moving experience of the process of creation in which the spirit is briefly touched and we are reborn. In this exhibition we will meet Rani Sasson’s intimate, sensitive story, who shares her feelings with us and shows us her personality and femininity in a story about motherhood and childhood. We will also meet Dror Ben Ami, who takes us on a journey into our self-imagination, transporting us to lost unfamiliar landscapes.  Exhibition Opening Friday January 24th, 11:00 at Museum On The Seam, Chel Hadasa St. 4. Exhibition Opening: Pinchas Cohen Gan

Viewers to this exhibition will encounter 30 of the Israel Award Winner’s art works: 14 large scaled three dimensional collages which integrate color and woodcut, and 16 paper drawings. Over the years, his art has created a bold and fitting survey of our dramatic sociopolitical state. His work is an uncompromising expression of his humane and ideological way along with aesthetic intensity. Exhibition Opening Friday January 24th, 11:00 at Museum On The Seam, Chel Hadasa St. 4.
